Former President Barack Obama’s recent comments about the existence of aliens have drawn criticism from President Donald Trump, who claims Obama disclosed information he wasn’t authorized to share.
Donald Trump says Barack Obama made a ‘big mistake’
Speaking to reporters, Donald Trump didn’t mince words when asked about Barack Obama’s viral podcast appearance. “He gave classified information, he’s not supposed to be doing that,” Trump said, according to the New York Post. “I don’t know if they’re real or not, but I can tell you he gave classified information.”
Trump emphasized the seriousness of the breach, stating, “He made a big mistake. He took it out of classified information. No, I don’t have an opinion on it. I never talk about it. A lot of people do. A lot of people believe it.”
What he is referring to is Obama’s appearance on YouTuber Brian Tyler Cohen’s show last week. During a rapid-fire questioning segment, when asked if aliens are real, Obama responded, “They’re real, but I haven’t seen them.” He then addressed the infamous Area 51 conspiracy, adding, “And they’re not being kept in… what is it? Area 51. There’s no underground facility, unless there’s this enormous conspiracy and they hid it from the president of the United States.” After his comments went viral, Obama took to Instagram to clarify his statements.
Interestingly, Lara Trump disclosed during a February 18 episode of the New York Post that her father-in-law, aka Donald Trump, has prepared remarks about extraterrestrial life. “My father-in-law has actually said it, that there is some speech that he has, that I guess at the right time,” Lara said. She added, “I don’t know what the right time is…that he is going to break out and talk about. And it has to do with maybe some sort of extraterrestrial life, so to speak.”
Despite these mounting conversations and his own criticism of Obama’s remarks, Donald Trump has not publicly addressed the existence of aliens since returning to office.
