This makes it four years in a row for the pop icon. She has previously become the best-selling artist back-to-back in 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025.
But she has also received the honor twice before in 2019 and 2014. This means this is her sixth overall time being the best-selling artist in the world.
She was listed as the best-ranked musician in sales by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry. IFPI considers global physical music sales, streaming plays, and digital downloads to calculate the top-selling artist.
This win from Swift marked her “creative consistency and the long-term global strategies supporting her releases,” as per IFPI (via Forbes).
Additionally, The Life of a Showgirl became the fastest-selling album of all time in the United States and broke many records.
In this year’s rankings, K-pop group Stray Kids finished second, which was their highest-ever rank. Drake finished in the third place, marking his eleventh appearance in the top 10 list. The Weeknd finished fourth, marking his ninth year in the top 10, followed by Bad Bunny, who recently became a sensation following his halftime show
