Donald Trump’s Banner Displayed at Justice Department Headquarters

Donald Trump continues to showcase his influence and branding across another federal institution, as the exterior of the United States Department of Justice in Washington, D.C., now displays a massive banner bearing his photo. Previously, he had also put his name and image on the storied buildings of the Department of Labor, the Department of Agriculture, and the U.S. Institute for Peace. This time, the banner at the DoJ also carries a powerful message directed at his promise to the nation.

On February 19, the exterior of the Department of Justice headquarters unveiled a large banner featuring Donald Trump, signaling his continued efforts to exert power and influence over federal institutions. The banner was pasted between two columns of the storied building. It came with a message that read, “Make America Safe Again.” It’s a slogan for Trump’s mission to remove violent crime and illegal immigrants from the country and restore its security.

A Department of Justice spokesperson recently addressed the new banner in a statement. They said, “We are proud at this Department of Justice to celebrate 250 years of our great country and our historic work to make America safe again at President Trump’s direction.”

Trump’s branding across several federal institutions isn’t new. However, the latest DoJ banner has specifically drawn criticism from former Justice Department official Stacey Young, who served under both Republican and Democratic administrations.

He regarded the banner’s placement on the DoJ as “shameful.” “Hanging that banner should put to rest any doubt that Donald Trump has hijacked the independence of the Justice Department. He — not the American people — is the only client DOJ’s current leadership serves,” he explained (via NBC News)

Additionally, in December 2025, the former Kennedy Center’s name was changed. It is now called the Trump–Kennedy Center after the Board of Trustees unanimously voted in favor of the change. In February 2026, Trump announced that the center would be closing down for two years for renovations.
