On February 17, Melania Trump took to Instagram to commemorate the success of her documentary, one day after the federal holiday, Presidents’ Day.
The black-and-white post featured a poster of her movie, along with a header that highlighted fans’ supposed love for the flick. The picture also showcased reviews from multiple high-profile media outlets, under the text, “#1 highest opening in a decade (doc).” The Wall Street Journal’s assessment read, “Melania is a hit,” while The New York Times reportedly noted, “Melania arrives with strong box office showing for a documentary.”
Melania Trump also urged fans to watch the movie in the caption, which read, “Don’t miss your chance to see MELANIA in theaters before its run ends. Experience the immersive visuals and sound on the big screen today.”
One Instagram user hyped up Melania’s documentary, writing, “This was a wonderful movie! So well done! I didn’t expect to be so moved emotionally to tears!” before giving it a five-star rating. “I saw this today and it was such a beautiful classy movie!” wrote another fan.
In addition to the praise, the movie also garnered several negative comments, with one user stating, “I’d rather be drowned in Donald’s excrement than watch your brainless movie.” Another Instagrammer wrote, “Oh my god bruh this movie was awful melania you genuinely could’ve made this about anything in your life and instead it’s a 20 days of car rides and yapping.” A third critic expressed their disappointment with Melania’s documentary by simply writing, “I’d rather have a root canal.”
