Jelly Roll’s wife and podcaster Bunnie XO released her new memoir, Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic, where she made multiple shocking revelations about her marriage to Jelly Roll. She also revealed that she contemplated suicide during a particular phase in her marriage, where Jelly Roll was engaged in an affair for months.
Bunnie XO opens up about Jelly Roll’s marriage
Bunnie XO dropped some major bombs about her marriage to Jelly Roll in her memoir, Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic. She even revealed that her husband had a long-drawn affair shortly after their marriage, an affair that led her to contemplate suicide (via Page Six).
This happened two years after they tied the knot, and things went downhill for them. The musician moved out of the house after a bitter phase, and then this affair began. After a brief separation, Bunnie XO showed up to one of Jelly Roll’s local concerts, which irritated the musician. It turned out he had a “former fling” waiting for him in the hotel room. That night, the wife of Jelly Roll’s best friend revealed to Bunnie that Jelly Roll was having an affair.
“She’d confirmed all the suspicions and fears I’d felt for the past ten months,” Bunnie wrote, “That night I contemplated taking my life.” She added, “The pain was so intense that I genuinely just wanted to end it all.”
She even grabbed a bottle of pills from her bathroom, writing, “I stared at the bottle, wondering what it would feel like to die from an overdose. Would it hurt? Would I just fall asleep? What if it didn’t work and I woke up in a hospital? Would J even care if I was dead?”
She ultimately gave up the suicidal idea. “I took a deep breath. Tomorrow is a new day,” she wrote. The couple agreed to a three month seperation, and at the end of it all, Jelly Roll promised to tell her the truth.
But the lies continued. Bunnie ultimately got all the information from Roll’s mistress. “And out of everything, that’s what made me sick. It wasn’t about him f–king this broad—it was about emotionally cheating,” she said about finding out the full extent of his infedility.
“I’m not going to pretend that we just went back to normal. We absolutely did not,” she explained, “It would take years for me to put the affair aside. It would take years to actually feel like this man loved me—that I wasn’t disposable.”
The musician later called cheating on Bunnie XO “one of the worst moments of my adulthood.”
But the pair still persevered and are continuing with their relationship.
