Katee Sackhoff says Carrie reboot is coming out in late 2026

Katee Sackhoff has revealed that Amazon Prime Video’s upcoming Carrie series is expected to premiere in October 2026. The actress shared the update during her appearance at Fan Expo Vancouver, where she discussed the project and confirmed its release timeframe.

The eight-episode adaptation wrapped production in October 2025 and had previously been expected to arrive at some point in 2026. During the panel, Sackhoff spoke about the show’s creator, Mike Flanagan, before announcing the release window. “Back to Mike Flanagan, yeah… the Flanniverse… October of 2026, Carrie comes out on Amazon. You guys are in for a treat. It’s very good. It’s very good,” she said (via The Direct).

When asked if she could share additional details about the series, Sackhoff declined. “I cannot say anything,” she said. However, she acknowledged that the adaptation would include elements traditionally associated with Carrie, noting that viewers can expect fire and possibly blood. The actress said, “I mean, it’s Carrie. There’s fire… There might be some blood. Yeah, I’m just excited. You guys are gonna love it.”

Sackhoff also praised Flanagan’s approach to the material, stating, “Mike Flanagan is, so good at what he does: smart, psychological horror.” She added, “And he’s very, very good at adapting Stephen King, and Stephen trusts him.”

The series is based on the novel by Stephen King and is being brought to television in episodic form under Flanagan’s direction. He is widely known for his work on The Haunting of Hill House and other horror productions.

As of now, Amazon Prime Video has not yet formally announced an exact premiere date.
