A new photo featuring Donald Trump and former UK Prime Minister Liz Truss has gone viral after she shared it on social media over the weekend. The meeting, which took place at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club in Florida, quickly drew attention online and sparked conversation about Truss’s continued efforts to align herself with the American right.
Liz Truss poses with Donald Trump in new photo
The photo, posted on February 15, shows Liz Truss standing with Donald Trump at his Mar-a-Lago club in Florida. Sharing the photo on X, Truss wrote, “Right about everything,” while tagging the president in her post.
Trump has not shared the photo on his own social media platforms. Instead, he has focused on promoting a new documentary that his wife, Melania Trump, has made. Details about how long the meeting lasted or who initiated it remain unclear.
The viral photo follows Liz Truss’ repeated efforts to build ties with Donald Trump’s MAGA base. After leaving office, she has traveled across the Atlantic to address conservative audiences in the United States, including appearances at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Maryland. At CPAC last year, Truss told attendees that her own country was “failing,” positioning herself alongside right-wing populist figures from around the world seeking deeper cooperation.
Truss served as UK PM for just 49 days, making her Britain’s shortest-serving prime minister. She later lost her seat in the 2024 general election, becoming an increasingly marginal figure in British politics. Since stepping down, she has shifted further to the right of the Conservative Party she once led and has attempted to relaunch herself as a podcaster and commentator.
She has also tried to establish a new private members’ club in London called The Leconfield, reportedly asking founding members for £500,000. The venture is being developed with property tycoon Robert Tchenguiz, who is renovating his Curzon Street offices for the project.
