Beloved Marvel Show To Be Renewed After Season 1 – Report

A newly released Marvel series, which proved to be a big hit with audiences and critics alike, might be getting a second installment. A recent rumor suggests that Marvel is quite close to greenlighting a sophomore season of Wonder Man. Although billed as a miniseries, the show’s popularity with viewers has left them eager to see more of Simon Williams’ story.

Wonder Man Season 2 possibly close to getting renewed

Renowned internet scooper, Daniel Richtman (Daniel RPK), recently shared on his Patreon that Marvel Studios is reportedly “very close” to greenlighting Wonder Man Season 2.

This rumor comes shortly after reporter Brandon Davis teased that Wonder Man may have more MCU appearances. Responding to content creator Matt Ramos’s post expressing his desire to see Simon Williams’ story continue, he wrote, “Wonder Man will get more.”

Davis’ post got many responses from fans curious about the character’s MCU future. One fan asked him if Simon Williams would show up in Avengers: Doomsday, while another pressed the reporter for more information, asking what he knew. Davis responded to the former by saying he wouldn’t appear in Doomsday. As for the latter, he replied with a cryptic meme of Game of Thrones’ Tyrion Lannister, who says, “That’s what I do. I drink, and I know things.”

Marvel Studios has not officially announced a second season of Wonder Man as of writing. However, Brad Winderbaum — the company’s Head of Streaming, Television, and Animation — addressed the possibility. While speaking with Entertainment Weekly, he said that a second installment was “on the table.” However, its chances hinge on people watching the series. “If it’s the only Wonder Man story, it really stands on its own as a beautiful piece,” he added. “But I anticipate that when people get to the end of this story, they’re gonna want more. And I hope that’s what happens.”

All eight episodes of Wonder Man are currently streaming on Disney+. Destin Daniel Cretton and Andrew Guest co-created the series, with the latter serving as showrunner.

In addition to Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams, the show also stars Ben Kingsley, X Mayo, Arian Moayed, Zlatko Buric, Shola Adewusi, and Demetrius Grosse, among others.
