Despite being the daughter of two of the most influential celebrities on the planet, in Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, North West recently urged her mother to show up in her live session on Instagram, in a bid to extract money from her followers. However, the SKIMS co-founder quickly shut down her eldest child’s request in the livestream itself, leading to a frenzy about the whole ordeal on the internet.
Kim Kardashian interrupts as daughter North West asks for money online
The 12-year-old daughter of Kanye West recently took to her Instagram profile to conduct a live stream. During the session, her mother joined in for a chat but refused to show her face in front of the camera.
Kim Kardashian instead raised her hand behind North West and wiggled her finger to prove to her daughter’s followers that she was present in the room. Wanting more from her mother, the young girl exclaimed, “You should just show your face, because…I don’t know. I want some money!” and grinned as she uttered the last word (via Daily Mail).
Surprised at her daughter’s unusual request, Kardashian snapped back by saying, “What?! No, we don’t ask — no, no, no.” Her mother’s instant denial of her request caused North to respond by simply stating, “OK!” in exasperation. Having shot down her daughter, the reality TV star then tried to reason with her by asking, “What do you mean?”
“Because, TikTok Live, like,” Kanye West’s eldest daughter replied before Kardashian jumped in to correct her, “This isn’t TikTok Live, this is Instagram.”
Notably, TikTok users can send virtual gifts to their favorite influencers during live streams, which explains North West’s confusion while asking for money during a live Instagram session. TikTok creators can later convert the gifts into ‘Diamonds’ that ultimately get added as earnings.
After rectifying her daughter’s mistake, Kim Kardashian said in a softened tone, “So you were, like, kind of messed up for a second.” North West meekly replied, “I know, I know.” Having defused the situation, the All’s Fair star then noted, “I thought you were asking me for something,” before finally letting out a chuckle.
Notably, this is not the first time Kardashian has interrupted her daughter’s Instagram live, proving that she monitors North’s online activity closely.
