In a recent interview with Billboard, Benson Boone showed support for Bad Bunny, who is set to headline this year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show. The “Beautiful Things” singer said that he is “really excited” to watch the “King of Latin Trap” perform, amid polarizing reactions to the announcement.

“I’ve seen a lot of mixed reviews online of people being excited about it and people not being excited about it,” Boone said. “I think it’s cool to do something that brings in a whole new audience. So I’m excited to see what he does. I think he’s extremely talented and has a lot of really, really good music,” the singer added.

Shortly after Bad Bunny was announced to perform at the Super Bowl, Donald Trump spoke out against the decision, calling it “absolutely ridiculous.” In a recent interview with The New York Post, the President took aim at the “Monaco” hitmaker as well as the 2026 Super Bowl’s opening act, Green Day. “I’m anti-them. I think it’s a terrible choice. All it does is sow hatred. Terrible,” Trump said of the musicians.

However, fans and fellow celebrities have come to Bad Bunny’s defense. When asked by a TMZ reporter why many are “hating on” the Latin artist, Jay-Z stated, “They love him. Don’t let them fool you.”

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell weighed in on the matter as well. Speaking with The Atlantic, he stated that Bad Bunny is “one of the most popular entertainers in the world.” He added, “I would say I’m not sure we’ve ever selected an artist where we didn’t have some blowback or criticism. We have hundreds of millions of people watching, but I have full confidence it’ll be a good show.”

The Super Bowl LX will take place on February 8, 2026, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Fans can tune in on NBC and stream the show live on Peacock.
