Madison Beer recently revealed that Justin Bieber was her “obsession.” In her latest appearance on the “Podcrushed” podcast, the 26-year-old claimed that she had a cardboard cutout of the Canadian singer in her room when she was 12. The diva has been making headlines for her new album, “Locket,” which is reportedly inspired by her younger self. For those unversed, she first gained attention after Bieber shared her singing the cover of “At Last” in 2012 on Twitter (formerly X).
Madison Beer says Justin Bieber was ‘definitely her obsession’ in interview with Penn Badgley
Madison Beer has been a Belieber since her teenage years. She recently appeared on the podcast “Podcrushed,” co-hosted by Penn Badgley, Nava Kavelin, and Sophie Ansari. Talking about the singer’s new album, “Locket,” the “You” star asked her, “Who might have been, at 12 years old, in a locket for you?”
To this, Beer confessed, “Transparently, Justin Bieber.” She then justified her claims, saying that Instagram users could find proof if they scroll down to her first post. It was a “cardboard cutout” of Bieber, which was reportedly in her room. “He was definitely my obsession,” she added.
The “Good in Goodbye” hitmaker also mentioned that it was “insane” when she got to work with him. Answering Badgley’s question, she concluded, “[Bieber] probably would have been in my locket. That’s the truth.” Adding to it, the “Gossip Girl” alum confirmed if it was the same year Bieber found her.
The 31-year-old global music star tweeted a video of Beer singing Etta James’ cover, “At Last,” in 2012. The post caught the media’s attention, which gave her singing career a significant boost. Recalling the golden days, she revealed in the podcast that she “freaked out.” “Then I just kept on going with my normal life, and it was just this big deal for a second, and then I ended up meeting him, and I ended up signing with him, and it was a whirlwind,” Beer shared.
