Sarah Ferguson’s Diaries Could Be the ‘Backbone’ of Her Memoir — Source

Sarah Ferguson is vacating the Royal Lodge along with former husband, ex-prince Andrew, after being ordered by the monarch over the recent controversies. However, according to insiders, the former princess is taking along some raw material for a potentially explosive memoir that she could use as “leverage” for her memoir.

Sarah Ferguson could use memoir as ‘escape route’ and ‘leverage,’ claims source

Sarah Ferguson will soon move to a new place after vacating the Royal Lodge in Windsor Great Park, which has been her home for decades. As per Ok!‘s insider, the shifting process is already underway as the former Duchess of York is “moving boxes out of the mansion.” However, the source revealed that these boxes “are said to contain years of personal diaries.”

And many fear that Ferguson might follow the same path as Prince Harry, whose bombshell memoir Spare reportedly created a rift in the royal household. That is why this has apparently led to “anxiety that these notebooks could form the backbone of a highly lucrative tell-all, something many would see as a line being crossed.”

Even other source echoed the same saying, “There is a feeling she is preparing an escape route, financially and reputationally.” As a result, “people around her are worried she believes a memoir is her last remaining leverage.” The insider continued, “And that is why warnings are being issued now rather than later.”

While no memoir from Ferguson has been announced, those close to the royal household have said that the mother of two has been approached by publishers with some lucrative offers, reaching up to seven figures, for narrating her ordeal in the autobiography. And it seems even the 66-year-old British author “feels a tell-all book would solve her financial problems, but it’s not all about that.”

Sources say that in order to avoid another controversy, Ferguson has been “warned by the most senior figures in the royal family not to go rogue as it could unleash a torrent of legal action over any claims she makes in her book.”

In addition, “like Andrew, she is being quietly told that if she agrees to shut up her life will be secretly funded for the rest of her days.” The insider noted, “The last thing the royals need is another tell-all book like Prince Harry’s Spare.”
