Travis Kelce pulls out of the 2026 Pro Bowl amid retirement rumors. The Chiefs’ tight end won’t be making his 11th Pro Bowl appearance. Although Kelce personally had a good season, his team, the Kansas City Chiefs, did not. Notably, the Chiefs missed the playoffs for the first time since 2014 and ended the season with a heartbreaking 6-11 record.
Travis Kelce is set to miss 2026 pro bowl for this reason
Travis Kelce opted out of the 2026 Pro Bowl as he reportedly weighs retirement. The 36-year-old will not play in the star-studded event, which will take place in San Francisco on February 3, during Super Bowl week. Notably, Buffalo Bills tight end Dalton Kincaid will be replacing Kelce (via PEOPLE).
Bills beat reporter Jay Skurski revealed that Kincaid will be an injury replacement for Kelce. Interestingly, Kelce has previously been named to the Pro Bowl an impressive 11 times in his 13-year career.
What is peculiar about this piece of news is that neither Kelce nor the Chiefs had previously announced that Kelce is suffering from an injury. Also, Kincaid’s teammate had previously revealed that he himself played through a horrific knee injury.
Bills’ Dawson Knox spoke on Mitch Morse’s Monday Mornings with Mitch podcast last week. He shared, “Dalton has a torn PCL he was playing through. Just the amount of head, shoulders, knees, and toes. Eyes and ears and mouth and nose, dude. Everything. I mean, it was easier to make a list of the things that didn’t hurt on a lot of these guys.”
Kelce opting out of the upcoming Pro Bowl has sent rumor mills buzzing yet again over his impending retirement. The Chiefs’ tight end discussed his rumored retirement on the January 7 episode of his New Heights podcast after the team had to bid adieu to their playoff dreams.
At the time, he said, “It’s a tough thing to navigate. I think if my body can heal up, rest up, and I can feel confident that I can go out there and give it another 18-20/21-week run, I think I would do it in a heartbeat. I think right now is just finding that answer and seeing how the body feels after all this settles down.”
