Jacob Elordi reveals how he will celebrate his first Oscar nomination

In a recent conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, Jacob Elordi shared his feelings after learning about his first Academy Award nomination. The actor revealed that he will celebrate with his mom and his dog. “I am beside myself,” the actor shared, adding, “I am so excited. I mean, I’m 28 years old. It’s wind in the sails.”

The Saltburn star went on to reveal what he was doing on the day the nomination was announced. “I was asleep,” Elordi shared. “I fell asleep reading a good book, so I was comfortably asleep. My mother is with me right now, and I heard her phone ring, and it woke me from my sleep, and then I heard her feet running up the stairs.” He continued, “She had my whole team on a group FaceTime call. Very, very, very exciting. Very sweet for all of us.”

Elordi went on to gush about Frankenstein and reflected on what The Creature meant to him. “This character for me and what is onscreen is everything that I’ve wanted to say as an actor my whole life. It’s every bit of the dream that I’ve had since I was 12,” he shared.

“It’s everything that I could possibly express of myself in a part. So in a way, the creature is the personification of a dream I had when I was very small. It means a lot to me because it’s not just a character, it’s myself,” the actor added.

Frankenstein has earned a total of 9 Oscar nominations, including Best Picture and Best Adapted Screenplay for Guillermo del Toro. Fans can watch the 98th Academy Awards live on Sunday, March 15, at 7 p.m. ET on ABC. The show will also stream on Hulu.
