Jimmy Kimmel mocks Donald Trump

Jimmy Kimmel used his late-night monologue to criticize Donald Trump. This comes after details surfaced about a letter the U.S. President sent to Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.

The letter was sent shortly before Trump’s scheduled appearance at the World Economic Forum in Switzerland. It referenced his belief that he had been overlooked for the Nobel Peace Prize. In the message, Trump wrote, “Considering your Country decided not to give me the Nobel Peace Prize for having stopped 8 Wars PLUS, I no longer feel an obligation to think purely of Peace.”

Addressing the situation on his show, Kimmel focused on the nature of the communication itself, calling it “a weird thing.” He criticized the president’s decision to send the message directly to a foreign leader and questioned whether it was appropriate. The host added, “The idea that he’s typing out a b—hy little message to the Prime Minister of Norway, a message that explicitly says, ‘Since you didn’t give me the peace prize, I’m thinking about taking Greenland away.’ It’s unheard of.”

Kimmel compared Trump to a character from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, calling him “President Veruca Salt.” He also mocked Trump’s frustration over not receiving the Nobel Peace Prize and his focus on Greenland. The host said, “‘I want Greenland. I want it now!’ All because he didn’t get a little medal around his neck. He’s a child.”
