Don Lemon recently responded to Nicki Minaj after she used a homophobic slur against him while expressing her opposing views on one of his ICE protest videos on X (formerly Twitter). In his recent interview, Lemon said that Minaj lacks an understanding of politics and journalism and suggested that she refrain from commenting on topics she is not well-informed about.
Furthermore, the TV journalist also referred to the singer-songwriter as “ignorant” and used the term “pick me,” referencing her public support for MAGA.
Don Lemon responds to Nicki Minaj
In a recent interview with TMZ, Don Lemon addressed Nicki Minaj for criticizing him on X over one of his reports related to the ICE protests. Lemon initially said that although he mostly ignores such comments, he felt the need to address them this time. He also touched on deportation and public support for Minaj’s music career. In response to the language she used against him, he described her as a “homophobic, bigoted, ignorant woman.”
Referencing the 43-year-old’s lack of knowledge on certain topics, Lemon added, “This is clearly out of her depth. She doesn’t understand politics. She doesn’t understand journalism. And I’m not surprised that she is weighing in on something that is beyond her capacity.”
Further speaking about the Chucky doll Minaj used in a tweet to criticize him, he added, “A better symbol that should have been represented in that picture is a ‘Pick Me’ doll because Nicki Minaj is a pick me. She will do anything that is expedient for her politically. And again, she’s ignorant.”
The former CNN host believes that Minaj doesn’t have good knowledge of the subject she’s talking about and should probably “sit the f**k down.” While she does it, he also asks her to “get a life and grow some brains.”
Don Lemon’s comments come in light of Nicki Minaj taking to X to bash him, calling him “DON ‘C*CK S*CKIN’ LEMON IS DISGUSTING.” The rapper further wrote, “HOW DARE YOU? I WANT THAT THUG IN JAIL!!!!! HE WOULD NEVER DO THAT TO ANY OTHER RELIGION. LOCK HIM UP!!!!!”
