Jennifer Garner recently offered a candid glimpse into her life with her ex-husband Ben Affleck, revealing that his intense love for Beyoncé once dominated their household soundtrack.
Garner, 53, shared the story during a Thursday appearance at a Los Angeles bookstore alongside author Laura Dave. As the two discussed creative habits, Garner jumped in to comment on Dave’s tendency to work while looping the same music, something she said felt all too familiar.

Addressing the audience, Garner joked about the endurance required to live with someone who replays a single track nonstop. “Do you listen to one song over and over again?” she asked. “I just want to tell you something — I’ve survived this. I have lived through it.” She then recalled a very specific moment from her marriage to Affleck.
“Ben Affleck listens to a song over and over. I had a three-month-old and a three-year-old living in a rental in Cambridge, Massachusetts, while he was shooting The Town. And he listened to Beyoncé’s “Halo,” and I would be nursing.” Garner said, laughing.
Affleck has openly acknowledged his habit of relying on music to fuel his creative process. In a 2016 Golden Globes interview, he explained that he often selects a few inspiring tracks and plays them repeatedly while writing, calling the practice “hypnotic” and helpful for concentration and mood-setting. “And so I think music is really, really helpful” (via DailyMail).
In 2010, Ben Affleck directed his second film, The Town, which starred Blake Lively.
