The camaraderie between Hollywood’s A-listers is no secret, and one such friendship that has been making headlines is that of Ben Affleck and Matt Damon. The Gone Girl actor recently revealed that his kids’ visit to their dad’s friend, Damon, on the sets of the latter’s upcoming film left them really “psyched.”

Ben Affleck recently opened up about a heartwarming off-screen moment he shared with his kids and longtime friend Matt Damon.
During his latest appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, The Accountant star revealed that he took his three kids, with ex-wife Jennifer Garner — Violet, 20, Seraphina, 17, and Samuel, 13 — to visit Damon on the set of his upcoming film, The Odyssey, directed by Christopher Nolan.
“I did [visit the set] and I’m a huge fan of Chris’,” Affleck expressed. “And you know it’s one of those things where my kids never want to come to the set when I’m working. [I’m] like, ‘Hey guys, we’re doing a thing on the set.’ And they’re like, ‘No, I got school.’ But they were really psyched to come visit this set,” he added.
Affleck further revealed that his middle child is obsessed with The Iliad and The Odyssey. Hence, taking them to the set made for a really cool and memorable experience.
The Air actor called getting to show them the incredible way Hollywood movies are made, and especially the “great, epic, in-camera, David Lean” kind of films, a proud dad moment. He further expressed his gratefulness to Nolan for letting them peek behind the scenes. Considering the fact that the director’s known for keeping the set focused on work, Affleck regarded the experience as an honor.
Matt Damon jumped in to make an interesting revelation. He disclosed that Affleck and his kids were the only guests Nolan allowed on the set in six months of shooting.
Notably, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon were on the show to promote their new Netflix flick, The Rip. The crime thriller is set to release on January 16, 2026.
