Bad Bunny Faces $16M Lawsuit Ahead of Super Bowl 2026

Just weeks out from his huge Super Bowl LX halftime performance, Bad Bunny is in hot water with a $16 million lawsuit. The Grammy-winning reggaeton superstar is sued over allegedly using a woman’s voice without permission on two tracks. It includes one from his 2025 album. The legal drama comes as he gears up to entertain millions on February 8, 2026.

Bad Bunny sued ahead of Super Bowl 2026 performance

The lawsuit, brought by Tainaly Y. Serrano Rivera, alleges that Bad Bunny used her voice without asking. Rivera says she recorded a line back in 2018 that later showed up in Bunny’s song “Solo de Mi” and again in “EoO” from his 2025 album Debí Tirar Más Fotos. In the clip, she says, “Mira, puñeta, no me quiten el perrero.” This roughly translates to “Look, a**hole, don’t take away the perreo.” That line has since become a signature part of his shows and even his merch.

Rivera says she recorded the line back when she and Bad Bunny’s longtime producer, Roberto J. Rosado, were students at the Interamerican University of Arecibo. She claims there was no contract or written permission for her voice to be used commercially. Further, she had no idea it would end up on songs or in promos. Now, Rivera is going after Bunny and his label, Rimas Entertainment, seeking $16 million for violating her privacy and publicity rights (via Entertainment Weekly).

This isn’t the 31-year-old’s first run-in with legal trouble over his music. Almost three years ago, Bad Bunny’s ex, Carliz De La Cruz Hernández, sued him for using her voice on songs like “Pa Ti” and “Dos Mil 16”. She claims her recording appeared on multiple tracks, in concerts, and across promos, without her being paid. Hernández’s lawyers, the same team now representing Rivera, said Bunny had offered $2,000 to buy the rights to the song before dropping his 2022 album Un Verano Sin Ti, but she turned it down.
