Hugh Jackman & Ryan Reynolds Team up for This Non-Superhero Project

Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds are teaming up again, but this time, it’s not about saving the world. The Hollywood duo is venturing into a playful, off-screen project with SailGP, Australia’s top sailing league. They’re bringing their trademark humor and charm to a new BONDS campaign, spotlighting the crew behind the BONDS Flying Roos and the high-speed excitement of championship sailing.

The campaign, kicking off with SailGP’s sixth season in Perth, stars Jackman and Reynolds as the fun-loving co-owners of the BONDS Flying Roos. They’re joined by driver and CEO Tom Slingsby and his crew, giving fans a peek into the team’s pre-race “briefing.” Produced by Maximum Effort, the video gives a sneak peek at SailGP’s speed, precision, and intensity, showing off both the crew’s personalities and their athletic skills.

“BONDS, Hugh, and Ryan bring a great energy to the team. It’s fun, it’s fast-moving, and it matches the way we like to go racing—competitive, focused, and not taking ourselves too seriously,” said Slingsby.

BONDS has been a longtime partner of the Flying Roos, acting as both the team’s official title sponsor and underwear sponsor. The collaboration highlights the brand’s 100+ years of Aussie heritage and its signature comfort.

BONDS’ head of marketing, Kedda Ghazarian, said the brand is thrilled for another exciting season with the Flying Roos. She noted that with Hugh and Ryan leading the team, fans get a look inside the “briefing room” and their secret weapon, “comfy undies” (via Bandt).

Hugh Jackman is famous for playing Wolverine in the X-Men films and recently starred alongside Ryan Reynolds in Deadpool & Wolverine. While nothing’s officially confirmed, rumors are swirling that Wolverine could make a comeback in Avengers: Doomsday. Meanwhile, Ryan Reynolds is gearing up for the release of Animal Friends, which is set to hit theatres in 2026.
