Burger King has ushered in the new year by debuting a fan-made Whopper. Fans are aware that the popular burger brand is known for its delicious, loaded Whoppers. As part of their latest promotional campaign, Burger King has introduced fan items, which include a Whopper and a dessert. However, fans might hate it.
Burger King introduces new fan-made Whopper to its menu
Burger King debuted a new fan-made Whopper meal on its menu. The popular burger brand announced on Instagram, “New year, new flavors. Steakhouse ones.” The post was accompanied by a high-quality picture of a loaded and juicy burger, accompanied by the text, “New Year, New Whopper by You.”
The text underneath reads, “Ultimate Steakhouse Whopper.” Below that, text in an even smaller font states, “Limited time at participating US restaurants, while supplies last.” Fans will be pleased to learn that, in addition to the Whopper, Burger King has also brought back the Cinnamon Apple Pie to its menu (via Dexerto).
Burger King launched their Whopper By You initiative last year. It allowed customers to submit and customize their own Whopper ideas. Once submitted, and if approved, Burger King would include it in their main menu and sell it nationwide. The Ultimate Steakhouse Whopper extends the burger giant’s Steakhouse Bacon Whopper, released early last year.
Burger King’s expert chefs flame-grill and soak the delicious beef patty in meaty juices. They top it with crunchy onion rings, bacon, sautéed mushrooms, Swiss cheese, and peppercorn aioli. A crispy and well-toasted sesame seed bun covers the assortment of toppings.
Previously, Burger King launched the customer-recommended BBQ Brisket Whopper and the Crispy Onion Whopper. The burger giant confirmed that the Ultimate Steakhouse Whopper is the first of many fan-recommended burgers added to its menu. Customers can still submit new Whopper ideas through the company’s website.
However, a particular section of fans isn’t excited about the idea, mainly due to the inclusion of mushrooms. One user commented, “Are those… mushrooms?” A second fan remarked, “Burger adding mushrooms in 2026 already,” followed by multiple crying emojis. To which Burger King replied, “Why not?”
Finally, one user reiterated, “No mushrooms, please make it extra saucy.”
