Indiana Jones stunt show member injured after getting hit by boulder
In a video shared by X user Scott Gustin, a 400-pound boulder struck an Indiana Jones stunt show member. Gustin wrote in the caption, “During Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular! at Disney’s Hollywood Studios today, a 400-pound boulder prop dislodged from its track. A Cast Member was injured stopping it before it reached the audience. Disney says the Cast Member received immediate care and is recovering.”
In the brief video, the 400-pound boulder drops and rolls freely as a Disney employee tries to salvage the situation. However, the boulder knocks the man over as another employee rushes in to stop the boulder from causing any more damage.
According to Gustin’s caption, “The 400-pound rubber ball prop is used to recreate the iconic opening from Raiders of the Lost Ark, where Indiana Jones triggers a trap and outruns a massive rolling boulder.”
A Disney spokesperson told Variety, “We’re focused on supporting our cast member, who is recovering. Safety is at the heart of what we do, and that element of the show will be modified as our safety team completes a review of what happened.”
Fans in the comments section have lavished praise on the Indiana Jones stunt show member for his presence of mind. One fan commented, “This show is pretty great. Thankful for that quick-thinking cast member. Hope they don’t end it.” “Valiant hero. Give him a raise,” a second fan wrote.
