Kevin O’Leary smacked Timothee Chalamet’s ‘ass’ so hard, his ‘eyeballs exploded’
Kevin O’Leary recently recalled his and co-star Timothee Chalamet’s experience of filming for the bare-butt paddle scene in the film, “Marty Supreme”, in a recent interview with Us Weekly. While speaking about what happened during the scene’s filming, the Canadian businessman disclosed, “We had a fake paddle that had a hinge thing and a foam thing.” He continued, “It was supposed to not hurt. Didn’t work.” He then added, “It broke immediately.”
After that, Kevin O’Leary revealed, “So we got to a real paddle, wood, like, a real paddle, with grooves on the surface of it.” The businessman and actor then went on to tell the news outlet that, despite having an “ass double,” Timothee Chalamet decided to perform the scene himself. The television personality recalled, “Timmy walked in [and] said, “No, it’s got to be my ass. I’m going to immortalize my ass on film in perpetuity.”” He continued, “And he said, “I’m doing it.”” The businessman then disclosed, “So we started whacking cheeks left and right and left and right to try and keep the red the same intensity.”
In the meantime, Kevin O’Leary further said that the movie’s director, Josh Safdie, didn’t feel that the scene was “looking real” as he was “not hitting him (Timothee Chalamet) hard enough.” After that, the businessman explained, “I wound up like a baseball bat, and I nailed his right cheek.” He continued, “And I think his eyeballs exploded out of his head, and that’s what you see.” “His reaction to that was still just great,” also added the television personality.
“Marty Supreme” made its debut in theaters in the United States on December 25.
