Travis Kelce’s Childhood Car Stunt Was a ‘Crime Scene’, Says Jason

Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce recently shared a funny story from his childhood during the latest episode of the New Heights podcast with siblings Jason and Kylie Kelce. At just four years old, Travis somehow managed to start a car and roll it into the back of the family garage. This stunt left his older brother Jason calling it a “crime scene.”

The story unfolded when the Kelce brothers responded to a fan comment about a six-year-old insisting they could drive. Jason jumped in, saying, “Travis did drive a car at 6 years old, right through the back of our garage.” Kylie teased that Travis wasn’t entirely to blame, suggesting some convincing may have been involved. Jason quickly joked that that’s not going to hold up in a court of law. “Oh, I wasn’t going to shoot him in the head, but my friend told me it was a good idea,” Jason quipped.

Travis himself recalled the moment vividly: “You were witnessing every bit of me walking up to that car, putting the keys in, and somehow getting it into neutral at the age of three or four, maybe.” He clarified that he didn’t intentionally drive the car into the garage: “To say I drove the car through the garage is a bit aggressive… I put it in neutral, and then it just rolled. The weight of the car broke the door… I wasn’t smart enough to put that thing in drive.”

Fans of the Kelces found the story both funny and relatable. One fan shared that when their young cousin was around five or six, she had been playing with an old Karmann Ghia on a hill, accidentally put it in neutral, and let it roll backward to the bottom.  Another fan recalled accidentally driving their family car into the back of the garage while trying to slow it down. They weren’t punished because their dad felt responsible for not fixing the brakes earlier, and they said that experience is why they can relate to Travis.
