Restaurant Chain Introduces New Shoes With a ‘Sticky’ Twist

Denny’s, the diner brand, is now stepping into fashion with sticky shoes. They have now released a limited edition high-top sneaker that contains real Denny’s syrup. It is present inside a clear, sealed panel. They are in collaboration with footwear artist Mache and drop on December 17, 2025, just in time for National Syrup Day.

Denny’s new shoes have a ‘sticky’ feature

Denny’s new sticky shoes will now be available online. They are made in a small batch and are a collectible piece rather than everyday footwear.

The design leans hard into breakfast iconography. It has syrup-colored patent leather, tumbled yellow accents, and the Denny’s logo on the heel. A transparent panel along the side shows real syrup sealed inside, a feature the company says is meant purely for visual effect.

Designer Dan Gamache (aka Mache) praised the balance of theatrical theming and craftsmanship, saying, “Sticky Kicks was just the right mix of over-the-top theming and maintaining the high standards of materials and fabrications that our sneakers are known for” (via Denny’s press release).

Denny’s is making the sticky shoes available in a narrow size range and price tier. It will have adult men’s sizes 8–13, retailing for $195, with sales beginning December 17 at 12 p.m. EST exclusively at DinerDrip.com. Denny’s Rewards members get an hour of early access to buy before the general public, according to the announcement. The chain frames the drop as a limited, collectible release rather than a mass-market product.

The company was careful to stress that the syrup is decorative only. “Do not puncture the shoes or eat the syrup from the shoes for any reason. These drips are for style only, so leave it that way,” the brand warned in its release.

Denny’s said, “Sticky Kicks are impractical, unnecessary, and completely over the top, which is exactly why we love them,” said Ellie Doty, senior vice president and chief brand officer at Denny’s.
