Fox Sports Host Leaves Daily TV Job To Focus on NFL Sunday

Seasoned Fox Sports veteran Curt Menefee recently announced that he’s leaving Good Day New York, taking the show’s viewers by surprise. However, it’s not all bad news; he shared details on what programs he will be focusing on moving forward.

Fox’s Curt Menefee confirms he is ‘not coming back’ to Good Day New York in 2026

On Tuesday, the Fox NFL Sunday co-host shared that he’ll be leaving Good Day New York after co-hosting the show for nearly two years.

“January will be two years since I’ve been doing ‘Good Day New York,'” Menefee shared, facing his co-host, Rosanna Scotto. “But I’m not coming back in 2026. It’s been a great time. You have been welcoming, and the staff is wonderful. It’s just the back and forth. I think a lot of people know that I stay on the West Coast.”

Menefee clarified that he’ll continue to do other Fox shows, like Fox NFL Sunday, UFL Football in the spring, and coverage of the Belmont Stakes. He added, “So, I’ll still be here on Fox. You’ll just catch me on Fox Sports on the weekends and not Monday through Friday here with you.”

He described his relationship with Scotto as “a brother-sister” dynamic, wherein they “give each other a hard time.” Menefee expressed that he’s going to miss the city and how much people love to talk about their love for the show. He also credited much of the show’s success to Scotto, adding, “Being beside you was an honor for me.”

The veteran host then explained the challenge of balancing his personal and professional life since he has been traveling between the West Coast and New York City regularly. “My wife is there full-time, and we see each other 20 hours a week. And it’s the life I’ve chosen, so I’m not complaining. I’m just saying, at some point you have to make an adjustment.”

Curt Menefee joined Fox Sports in 1997 as a sideline reporter, quickly advancing to play-by-play roles for Fox’s NFL Europe and Fox NFL, among many others. In 2007, Menefee became the full-time host of Fox NFL Sunday. Over the years, he has covered a wide range of sporting events, before he began co-hosting Good Day New York on January 7, 2024.

Menefee will continue to co-host Good Day New York till the end of the year.
