IShowSpeed recently participated in a competitive eating challenge with Joey Chestnut, where he had to eat a quarter of a pie in 30 seconds. The YouTuber and streamer, who has garnered attention in recent years for his bold content, expressed confidence and slight nervousness before starting the challenge. However, towards the end of the challenge, he felt some discomfort and nearly threw up on Chestnut.
IShowSpeed gets sick after pumpkin pie eating challenge
In the latest episode of his YouTube series, Speed Goes Pro, IShowSpeed participated in a competitive eating challenge with Joey Chestnut, after being trained by professional competitive eater Miki Sudo. The pair competed with eggs, hot dogs, chicken wings, pizza, and pumpkin pie.
Before starting the pumpkin pie eating challenge, Chestnut asked the 20-year-old about his experience eating cherry pie with Sudo. The latter spoke unfavorably of it, saying he was one of those people who disliked the food.
Chestnut told Speed that he once ate 20 pounds of pumpkin pie for a contest. The former then said to the latter that competitive eating wasn’t too complicated. Chestnut advised Speed to find his “happy place” and “keep swallowing” assuring the latter he would do well in the challenge.
Speed expressed confidence, claiming that pumpkin pie was one of his favorite foods. Chestnut told the streamer that he once ate 19.5 pounds in 8 minutes, which was 1.2 pounds in 30 seconds. He instructed Speed to eat half of that, which was one quarter, within the same time limit.
Chestnut started the timer, and Speed began eating. As the content creator ate, Chestnut encouraged him. Speed was visibly uncomfortable and took sips of a drink to push down the food.
Speed eventually started stuffing the pie into his mouth, but struggled to swallow it, even though Chestnut continued encouraging him. Eventually, he finished the portion that he had to eat on time.
However, Speed started feeling nauseous, prompting Chestnut to tell him to stay calm. The former jokingly moved to try to vomit on the latter, who laughed while pushing him away.
IShowSpeed took a green bucket in preparation for throwing up, but ultimately didn’t throw up. He gave a shoutout to his grandmother, saying he loved pumpkin pie because of her, but joked that his feelings have changed.
