Marvel fans have spent months speculating about which familiar faces could return for the next two Avengers films. Scarlet Witch is among the characters at the center of those discussions, particularly after Wanda Maximoff’s apparent fate in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Now, a new tease from the Scooper account MyTimeToShineHello has sparked speculation about another possible comeback. The account teased that Wanda will not be the only fan favorite returning in Avengers: Secret Wars, though it stopped short of identifying the additional character.
“Wanda isn’t the only one coming back. I just got word that another fan favorite will appear in Secret Wars,” he wrote.
The post quickly prompted fans to discuss potential candidates, with Quicksilver emerging as a popular guess as viewers wonder whether Marvel Studios could revisit the Maximoff family dynamic in the multiverse storyline.
What we know about Avengers: Secret Wars so far
Avengers: Secret Wars is scheduled to hit theaters on December 17, 2027. The film will follow Avengers: Doomsday and serve as the planned conclusion to Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The film’s release was previously adjusted, reflecting the growing scope of the multi-part crossover event. Anthony Russo and Joe Russo will direct the project, returning to the franchise after helming Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.
Robert Downey Jr. is set to star as Doctor Doom. The Fantastic Four and Thunderbolts are also expected to feature, with Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Florence Pugh and Sebastian Stan among the returning MCU stars.
Noah Jupe has reportedly joined in a key role, although his character remains unknown. The upcoming X-Men reboot could also connect to the crossover. Its announced cast includes Sadie Sink, Kit Connor, Christopher Abbott, Inde Navarrette, Maya Boyd, Samara Weaving and Adam Driver.
However, Marvel has yet to confirm their involvement in Secret Wars. The film is expected to draw inspiration from the 2015 Marvel Comics storyline, which follows the collapse of the multiverse through incursions. In the aftermath, Doctor Doom creates Battleworld from the remains of various universes and rules over it as God Emperor Doom.
