What to know about Daisy Edgar-Jones’ Sense and Sensibility?

The Georgia Oakley-directed film adapts Jane Austen’s beloved 1811 novel for a new generation. Diana Reid wrote the screenplay, which follows two sisters, Elinor and Marianne Dashwood. The siblings’ family loses their money and leaves their safe home following their father’s death. As they adjust to their new, simpler life, both sisters get entangled in messy and complicated romantic situations.

The story explores the sisters’ contrasting approaches to love. While Elinor tends to follow reason, Marianne often lets her emotions guide her decisions. As they experience romantic disappointments, both must decide whether to follow their heads or hearts.

Edgar-Jones plays Elinor, while Esmé Creed-Miles portrays Marianne. The supporting cast includes Caitríona Balfe, Frank Dillane, Herbert Nordrum, George MacKay, and Fiona Shaw.

As of writing, the movie holds a 78% critics’ approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 135 reviews. Audience gave the adaptation an 89% score. The 132-minute film grossed $37 million worldwide, including $16.7 million at the domestic box office.
