Dolly Parton‘s estate overhauls legacy after firing late icon’s nephew. The renowned country singer passed away in August at age 80.
Danielle Parton, the music legend’s niece, is officially the new brand ambassador of the Dolly Parton Estate. The news was confirmed in a video shared on Danielle’s Instagram. The clip sees the late singer introducing her niece. Danielle said she’s ready to carry forward her aunt’s legacy. “I’m not crazy enough to try to fill her shoes. God knows I couldn’t walk in them without killing myself,” she said. “What I can do is share the woman that I knew.”
The caption of her post further read, “Being a Parton means hard work, big dreams, and never forgetting where you came from. I’m proud to be part of that legacy and to carry it on in my own way.” Danielle began her career as a flight attendant. Later, she became a pilot and served 20 years in the Air National Guard. When she retired last year, Dolly was also present during her retirement ceremony.
Dolly Parton’s nephew was fired after alleged violent threats amid family shake-up
The newest change comes after the late singer’s nephew and former head of security, Bryan Seaver, was fired. Dolly Parton’s estate granted him a restraining order last month.
He and his security company, Squadron Augmented Protection Services (SAPS), reportedly sent threatening messages to employees. These included “terroristic threats, harassment, and intimidation,” according to the claims. The claims also said that Seaver wanted to “set up a podcast” to damage Dolly’s brand partnerships.
Later, a Tennessee judge granted a temporary restraining order to Parton’s estate, She’s Alive. The order prohibited Parton’s nephew and SAPS from coming within 1,000 feet of any She’s Alive employees, including lawyers and business partners. Additionally, it barred Seaver from interfering with the estate’s business operations.
