Black Panther 3 Will Introduce Beloved Character Into the MCU Fans Have Been Waiting For — Rumor

A new fan-favourite character is reportedly set to join the MCU. Black Panther 3 is scheduled for release on December 15, 2028, and will be part of a new MCU Saga following Avengers: Secret Wars.

According to reports from scooper James Mack, Ka-Zar will enter the upcoming Black Panther film. Mack added that Savage Land will also be introduced. The scooper described that the movie plot will reportedly deal with a space crisis where King T’Challa will face off against Ka-Zar. However, at this point, the update is just a rumor. Marvel Studios has yet to confirm anything about the film’s plot.

Interestingly, Marvel fans will see a new actor taking on the Black Panther mantle. Following Chadwick Boseman’s tragic demise, Letitia Wright temporarily took over as the Black Panther in Wakanda Forever. Now, Marvel has confirmed that David Jonsson will portray the iconic character in the coming projects. Jonsson’s Black Panther is expected to make his debut appearance in the upcoming Avengers movies first, before returning to the standalone film.

Who is Ka-Zar in Marvel Comics and why does he make sense for Black Panther 3?

Ka-Zar, or Kevin Plunder, is the son of a British nobleman who discovered the hidden Antarctic jungle in Marvel Comics. He protects the hidden, prehistoric Savage Land in Antarctica. Ka-Zar was raised by a saber-toothed tiger named Zabu. Stan Lee and Jack Kirby introduced him in X-Men #10 back in January 1965.

The character appears in the comics as an Agent of Wakanda. In recent Marvel Comics, Ka-Zar works closely with T’Challa as part of the Agents of Wakanda, serving as a bridge between the hidden jungle and Wakanda’s outer network. Additionally, Ka-Zar’s Savage Land contains Antarctic Vibranium.

Black Panther 3’s plot might introduce the character delving into the geopolitical dispute. The conflict might echo the one between Wakanda and Talokan portrayed in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. As the film rights to Kraven currently rest with Sony, the creators might instead shape the upcoming project into a Black Panther vs. Ka-Zar/Savage Land story that captures similar survival, hunting, and wilderness themes.
