Liam Neeson’s new action thriller is now one of his lowest-rated films on Rotten Tomatoes. The film stars Neeson and Zachary Levi and hit theaters on September 11, 2026. Guy Moshe directed the film, which follows former CIA operatives who reunite for a dangerous mission in Tehran.
The Fix currently has a 19% Tomatometer score from 26 reviews on Rotten Tomatoes. This makes it the sixth-lowest-rated film of Neeson’s career on the platform. The score may change as more reviews are added, but the early critical response has been largely negative.
The Hollywood Reporter criticized the film for its excessive approach and wrote, “A film that aspires to classic Hollywood action movie status but reduces its effectiveness through overkill of both the literal and figurative kind.” Meanwhile, The New York Times called the film over-the-top and described it as an “unfortunately timed, trivializing movie.”
Neeson has starred in several poorly reviewed action movies in recent years. Blacklight has an 11% Tomatometer score, while Ice Road: Vengeance sits at 16%. However, the actor has also appeared in several acclaimed movies, including Schindler’s List, Widows, and Ordinary Love.
What is Liam Neeson and Zachary Levi’s The Fix about?
The Fix follows a group of former CIA operatives who are dealing with the consequences of a failed mission in Afghanistan. Neeson plays Larry, a former CIA operative who mentors the group, while Levi portrays Tucker, its leader.
After their operation goes wrong, the team heads to Tehran for a dangerous rescue mission. The assignment gives the operatives a chance to make up for their previous failure. However, they soon find themselves facing another high-risk situation.
The film also introduces a larger mystery involving $25 million hidden in Tehran. The discovery gives the team another reason to pursue the mission, turning their operation into a combination of a rescue mission and a heist.
Moshe co-wrote the screenplay with Mark Bacci and Ron Hutchinson. The R-rated film’s cast also includes Quincy Isaiah, Wes Chatham, Jake Choi, Augusto Aguilera, Elnaaz Norouzi, and Navid Negahban. The Fix is now running in theaters.
