Liam Neeson’s The Grey is set to leave Netflix next month. According to What’s on Netflix, the survival thriller will be removed from the streaming platform on November 1, 2026.
Joe Carnahan directed The Grey, which draws its story from Ian MacKenzie Jeffers’ short story “Ghost Walker.” The film made its U.S. debut on January 27, 2012. The story centers on John Ottway and six other survivors stranded in the Alaskan wilderness after their flight crashes.
With freezing temperatures making the situation increasingly dangerous, the group sets out to find a safer place to take shelter. Their escape becomes far more difficult when they realize they are being followed by a pack of wolves. As the animals continue to hunt them through the snow, the survivors are forced to fight for their lives while trying to find a way out of the wilderness.
Liam Neeson leads the cast as John Ottway, with Frank Grillo playing John Diaz and Dermot Mulroney portraying Jerome Talget. Dallas Roberts appears as Pete Henrick, while Joe Anderson plays Todd Flannery and Nonso Anozie takes on the role of Jackson Burke.
The survival thriller also earned a favorable critical response. The Grey currently has an 80% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes from 208 reviews. Its audience score stands at 61 percent. Justin Craig of Fox News wrote, “Without question The Grey is an intense ride. It is primarily filmed like a horror movie with close-up or medium shots. This consistently give the impression that a mega-wolf is just off camera ready to snack on some throat.”
