Brad Pitt’s upcoming movie Heart of the Beast has a new trailer showcasing his screen partner Odin’s capabilities, alongside an exciting announcement. Directed by David Ayer, the film pits Pitt’s character, a Special Forces officer, and his trusty combat canine against the Alaskan wilderness.
The minute-long trailer, titled “Strength,” puts the spotlight on Odin, played by Uber, a Belgian Malinois. The video mostly shows footage from previous trailers, highlighting the duo working together to survive brutal terrain and wild predators. It ends with the announcement that tickets for Heart of the Beast are now on sale for all formats.
Why Odin is more than just a survival companion in Heart of the Beast
From all the footage revealed so far, it’s clear that Odin is more than a typical survival companion. The dog is shown helping Pitt’s character, Belmont, in many precarious situations. This includes bringing him ashore after he falls into a river and helping him fight against wild wolves at night. The footage also shows Odin helping Belmont while fishing, navigating a swamp, and on the battlefield. The trailer reveals that the leading duo must survive on their own within a 58-mile radius in the film.
A previous behind-the-scenes featurette had shown Pitt praising his co-star. “Odin is the star of the film,” Pitt said in the video. “He’s the most important piece to this story, and it’s been a surprising and special experience.” In the film, both Pitt’s character and his dog are suffering from PTSD from serving in the military.
Heart of the Beast is Pitt and Ayer’s second collaboration after Fury, released in 2014. Besides Pitt and Uber, the film stars J.K. Simmons and Anna Lambe. Ayer directed the film based on a screenplay by Cameron Alexander.
Heart of the Beast releases on September 25, 2026, in several formats, including Dolby Cinema.
