It Ends just dropped its most terrifying trailer yet. The final look gives fans a sneak peek into the horror elements awaiting them in theatres. Directed by Alexander Ullom, the movie already boasts a higher Rotten Tomatoes score than Obsession and Backrooms.
Indie horror has witnessed significant box office success in recent times. With Obsession and Backrooms getting fans’ approval, Ullom has every reason to feel upbeat about his new horror flick. According to the latest updates from Rotten Tomatoes, It Ends has a 94% rating on the Tomatometer from 79 reviews at the time of writing. The rating currently is higher than Obsession, which has 93% on the Tomatometer, and Backrooms, which has an 87% rating on the Tomatometer.
The summary of the movie, per Rotten Tomatoes, reads, “A group of recent grads head out on a late-night drive for grub, hoping to enjoy one final hangout before their paths diverge. Instead, they accidentally turn onto a never-ending, two-lane hellscape surrounded by untold horrors and cosmic forces beyond their understanding.”

What do we see in the It Ends trailer?
The trailer shows the movie’s Gen-Z cast on a road trip. But things soon take a wrong turn as the group ends up on an unwanted path. As the trailer progresses, the unending path makes the group extremely fearful and tense. While they wonder and try to figure out where exactly the road leads, horrifying entities start attacking and chasing the group of young high school grads. Throughout the trailer, the young group battles despair, horror, and fear. But despite being pushed to their limits, the group stuck together and grittily fought with the unknown elements of horror.
The movie, which also marks Ullom’s debut feature, stars Noah Toth, Mitchell Cole, Akira Jackson, and Phineas Yoon. It Ends is currently in theaters in Los Angeles and New York. The movie will be available nationwide on August 28, 2026.
