Aaron Eckhart‘s intense action canine movie returns with a new release on Hulu. The Muzzle sequel is available in the streamer’s library from August 7, 2026. The sequel picks up from the first part of the franchise, delivering a gritty, violent thriller.
Helmed by John Stalberg Jr., Muzzle: City of Wolves was first released on November 14, 2025. Jacob Michael King wrote the screenplay from a story by Stalberg Jr. based on Carlyle Eubank’s characters. The director also helmed the first movie, which was released on September 29, 2023.
The movie did not fare well during its theatrical run. It received a low score of 39% on Popcornmeter and had no Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes. However, fans of one-person army action movies have had a chance to watch the movie on Hulu.
The cast, characters, and story of Muzzle: City of Wolves
The first movie, titled Muzzle, has a synopsis that reads, “After his dog is killed in Skid Row, Jake Rosser plummets deep into a sinister underworld to uncover the truth about who may be responsible.”
The sequel follows the same character, Rosser, with Aaron Eckhart reprising his role as the lead. The synopsis of the second movie reads, “Haunted ex-K-9 officer Jake’s peaceful life is shattered when a gang brutally attacks his family. With new K-9 partner Argos, he uncovers a drug ring, confronts corrupt officials, and fights inner demons while pursuing the criminals.”
The other cast members of the 2025 action movie include Tanya van Graan, Karl Thaning, and Scott George. These three reprise their roles as Mia Rosser, Officer Beekman, and Paolo Reyes, respectively. Moreover, the Belgian Malinois, Axle, returned to star as the lead’s canine partner in the sequel.
In addition, Regan Joe Grace, Hakeem Kae-Kazim, Nicole Fortuin, and Dylan Williams are added to the second installment of the franchise. The new ensemble also includes the K-9 stars, Uzo and Malawi, as Argos.
