The Only Living Pickpocket in New York brings together two iconic Spike Lee veterans for a long-awaited onscreen reunion. The upcoming crime thriller is written and directed by Noah Segan, best known for his 2022 horror-comedy Blood Relatives.
The official synopsis for The Only Living Pickpocket in New York reads, “Harry is an old-school hustler. A classic native New Yorker, he moves through life lubricating palms with cash, relying on his wits and connections. But times are changing for Harry. His daily pickpocket take isn’t green bills and wristwatches; it’s credit cards and cell phones. And one unfortunate night, cryptocurrency and a handgun.”
The movie will see John Turturro and Giancarlo Esposito sharing a screen together after 35 years since they featured in Spike Lee’s 1991 classic Jungle Fever. Check out the new film’s trailer below:

The Only Living Pickpocket in New York will follow the journey of Harry, played by Turturro, a seasoned analog thief in New York City. His routine life is thrown into chaos after he encounters a cryptocurrency drive and a handgun.
The crime movie has been described as “a nostalgic portrait of a small-time career criminal navigating today’s digitally networked world.”
Director Noah Segan is also the writer for the upcoming film. Katie McNeill, Leopold Hughes, and Ben LeClair are serving as the producers. Rian Johnson, Ram Bergman, and Johnny Holland are the executive producers.
Alongside Turturro and Esposito, the star-studded cast includes Will Price (Brave the Dark), Tatiana Maslany (She-Hulk: Attorney at Law), and Steve Buscemi (Fargo).
The Only Living Pickpocket in New York hits theaters on October 30, 2026. Before the nationwide release, it will arrive in cinema halls across New York and Los Angeles a week early, on October 23, 2026.
