TAW Entertainment has released a new trailer for the upcoming Ed Gein horror movie. It is titled, Ed Gein: The House Of Horrors; the film will retell the story of the “Butcher of Plainfield.” The film was announced less than a year after the release of Netflix’s Monster: The Ed Gein Story.
What do we see in the trailer for the new Ed Gein horror movie?
The film’s synopsis reads, “After the death of his fanatically religious mother, isolated farmer Ed Gein begins hearing her voice guiding him to punish sinful women. As grief turns to obsession, Gein descends into madness, robbing graves, committing murder, and transforming his home into a house of horrors. When outsiders begin to uncover the truth, a nightmare decades in the making finally comes to light.”

The trailer starts with a group of young 20-somethings talking about Gein’s legacy while standing over his grave. The footage then shows a young Gein, whose mental health is deteriorating after his mother’s death. Gein says that he wishes he could make her proud while living alone on his family farm.
The tension escalates when Gein receives a supernatural phone call from his deceased mother, who tells him that God has granted her a second chance to “rid the world of Jezebel.” From there, the trailer showcases Gein pursuing various victims while wearing a suit crafted from human skin and filling his residence with gruesome trophies.
“We’re incredibly excited to finally share the first footage from GEIN,” said producer Stephen Staley. “The trailer captures the unsettling atmosphere and psychological intensity that define the film, while only scratching the surface of the nightmare audiences can expect. We can’t wait for horror fans around the world to experience it.”
Ed Gein: The House Of Horrors stars Nicholas Anscombe, Ellie Bindman, Stephen Staley and Gráinne Kelly. The film is directed by Sushank Kini and produced by TAW Entertainment. It will be distributed by ITN Distribution. It will mark Kini’s first directorial feature.
An official theatrical release date has not yet been announced.
