Avengers: Doomsday Trailer Is Already Disappointing Thor’s Fans for This Reason

An aspect from Avengers: Doomsday‘s first trailer has already left Thor fans disappointed. The two-and-a-half-minute trailer from Marvel unpacks jaw-dropping action, adrenaline-filled stunts, and massive battles that have fans buzzing. However, this one aspect left fans disappointed despite his shift from goofy to a more serious persona.

Thor fans are disappointed that Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes appear to lead the Avengers teams

The new Avengers: Doomsday trailer is making waves online, with fans praising what they’ve seen while eagerly awaiting the film’s release. One of the biggest talking points from the trailer is who appears to be leading the Avengers team.

Chris Hemsworth’s voiceover as the narrator in the Avengers: Doomsday trailer caught fans’ attention, adding emotional weight and a sense of urgency to the trailer. Although that made fans happy, many noticed Sam Wilson (Captain America) and Bucky Barnes leading two separate Avengers teams during the opening events shown in the trailer. It suggests that heroes are divided into groups at the beginning, with Sam and Bucky taking charge of their respective squads. This detail has disappointed many Thor fans.

Fans on social media have argued that Thor is the most experienced active Avenger in the film and deserves to lead at least one of the teams. Since making his MCU debut in 2011, Thor has battled many threats and MCU villains, and survived the Infinity Saga events. With such massive experience and centuries of wisdom, many believe the God of Thunder needs to have a chance to lead Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

The online reactions to Thor’s voiceover are exceptional, even among fans’ disappointment with the team’s structure. @Dpyadav005 commented, “CHRIS HEMSWORTH’S voice as Thor just raises the stakes and adds a gravitas to [the trailer]. WHAT A STACKED ENSEMBLE CAST!”

Whether Thor eventually steps into a leadership role remains to be seen, but his fights with Dr Doom and reunion with Chris Evans in the footage seem more exciting than ever. Avengers: Doomsday releases on December 18, 2026.
