The newest crime thriller movie starring Russell Crowe is now available to rent or purchase on digital platforms. Titled The Get Out, the R-rated film was based on Thomas Perry’s 2010 novel Strip.
What do we know about Russell Crowe’s new crime movie?
The Get Out was directed by Derrick Borte, who co-wrote the screenplay with Daniel Forte. In the film, Crowe plays a club owner whose retirement plan gets derailed after a robbery. The movie also stars Nina Dobrev (The Vampire Diaries), Luke Evans (The Hobbit), Teresa Palmer (Warm Bodies), Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad), and more. It currently holds a 53% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 19 reviews.
“A nightclub owner (Crowe) is on the verge of leaving his dangerous past behind for retirement with his girlfriend (Palmer). When masked gunmen (Dobrev, Paul) rob him, and he finds himself squeezed by ruthless cartels, a mysterious newcomer (Evans) arrives with an interest in buying the business. The crime thriller movie was produced by Nickel City Pictures’ Mark Fasano, A Higher Standard’s Jeffrey Greenstein, G2 Dispatch’s Deborah Glover, and Life & Soul Pictures’ Mark Bower. The creative team included composer Bryan Senti, editor Mark Warner, director of photography Brendan Galvin, production designer Freddy Waff, and costume designer Zed Dragojlovich. It has a total runtime of 111 minutes.
