Apple announced an historic new partnership with Microsoft at its Apple Event today.
The partnership will see Apple working alongside Microsoft to bring its rival’s Microsoft Office platform to the iPad Pro, taking advantage of the tablet’s larger 12.9-inch screen and greater power to create documents, spreadsheets and other such Office-related applications.
The announcement was met with a stunned silence from those attending the San Francisco event, as a Microsoft spokesperson detailed how Microsoft Office could be used with iOS 9, even going so far as to brand the new Apple device “gorgeous.”
This new partnership is a huge moment for both Apple and Microsoft, marking a rare example of cease fire amidst the two tech giant’s heated rivalry.
