DC Comics Reveals Fate of The Multiverse In Convergence Conclusion

DC Comics’ Convergence event was thought to be a stop-gap story that would allow the publisher to keep putting out comics while it completed its move from New York to Burbank. Characters from several different points in DC history were brought back for two issue miniseries for potentially the last time.

Or so we were led to believe.

Comic Book Resources has posted a report on the end of Convergence # 8, which comes out today. In it, CBR reveals that the patchwork world of Telos played a major part in determining the outcome of the story. There are full spoilers ahead, so consider this your final warning!

Every world survived. All of them. And that means that not only did the multiverse survive, but each era of DC history remains intact on its own world. That includes the pre-Flashpoint era, the original Earth-2, the post-Crisis on Infinite Earths era and several others.

Two splash pages from the end of the issue offer a glimpse of the timelines that are now back in play. Click on each image to view in full size!

That’s not exactly a rollback of the New 52 timeline that some fans had hoped for, but it does open up the possibility that DC can now revisit these different eras at will without disrupting its new continuity.

Convergence # 8 is on sale at comic shops everywhere.
