It’s an annual trend for Google to publish the end-of-year rankings of searches made on the site, with the results being based upon the fluctuations in search topics year-upon-year, though Google has stated that this doesn’t have much impact on the overall rankings.

Interestingly, neither the iPhone 6 nor the iPhone 6 Plus ranked within the top 10, despite Apple products frequently featuring in Google’s end-of-year rankings. This is somewhat odd given that the launches of the new smartphones were the most financially successful in history.
