Laphroaig Green Tee Salutes Open Championship

Laphroaig Scotch wants anyone watching the round at home to try a summery Scotch cocktail, The Green Tee.

Established in 1860, The Open Championship (…And, we don’t call it the British Open anymore…) takes place annually in either Scotland, Wales or England. The first Open Championship was played in 1860 at Prestwick Golf Club in Scotland, and Scotland continued to host the games until 1894.

Golf obviously has rich history in Scotland, with the game originating there in the 15th century. Golf was originally played on a course of 22 holes and was reduced to 18 holds at the Royal and Ancient Gold Club of St. Andrews in 1764.

But, that’s enough of the history lesson. You want a drink — golf themed or otherwise.

The Laphroaig Green Tee was developed to celebrate the legacy that both golf and the Open Championship have in Scotland. You’ll need Laphroaig 10-Year-Old, hailing from Islay,

Laphroaig Green Tee

Ingredients:

  • 1 part Laphroaig
  • 10-Year-Old Scotch Whisky
  • 3 parts Iced Green Tea
  • 1 part Pineapple Juice

Preparation: Add in order over ice in a Collins glass. Garnish with a pineapple slice.
