Austrian Girl Sues Parents For Posting Embarrassing Childhood Photos Of Her On Facebook
All you moms and dads out there better think twice when sharing any childhood photos of your teenagers, because you might get sued.
Yes, there are tons of people who overshare on Facebook, but not many that get sued because of it, and yet that is what is happening to parents to an 18-year-old woman who has decided to sue her parents for posting embarrassing photos of her as a child on Facebook.
The woman says over 500 photos have been shared without her permission, including photos of her undergoing potty training, as well as having her diaper changed — photos she claims have made her life hell.
“They knew no shame and no limit – and didn’t care whether it was a picture of me sitting on the toilet or lying naked in my cot – every stage was photographed and then made public,” the young woman explains. “I’m tired of not being taken seriously by my parents.”
And guess what? Her lawyer, Michael Rami, thinks his client has a good chance of winning in court.
Being sued hasn’t shaken her parents, though, who have refused to delete the pictures, which were shared with their 700 friends on Facebook.
This case is actually being taken seriously, as a court case is set to take place in November. If the young woman proves the photos violated her rights to a personal life, and she wins the case, her parents may end up having to pay compensation to their daughter.
Well, I guess I should start suing every terrible person that ever tagged me in a photo where I looked like complete and utter garbage — and there are quite a bit of them.
