Jeffrey Remedios Becomes New Universal Music Canada CEO

Jeffrey Remedios, who co-founded the Toronto record label Arts & Crafts in 2003, is leaving the company and heading over to Universal Music Canada, where he will be the new CEO.

Universal Music Canada, who represent bands like Luke Bryan, Carly Rae Jepsen, The Weeknd, and Lana Del Rey, was formerly run by Randy Lennox, who is moving on to a position with Bell Media. Lennox produced the song “Wavin’ Flag,” a track that helped raise millions of dollars for Haiti four years ago.

“Randy will be a tough act to follow, having created one of the best companies in the music industry,” Remedios said in a release (The Canadian Press). “I’m looking forward to working with Universal Music Canada’s extraordinary roster of artists and executives to continue their stellar record of artistic and commercial excellence.”

Universal Music Canada’s labels include Interscope, A&M, Astralwerks, Capitol, Motown Records, Def Jam, Geffen, EMI, Island, Polydor and Virgin Records.
