Kanye West Throws Mic At Pan Am Games

Kanye West was the headlining performer at the closing ceremony of the Pan Am Games this weekend, and despite a long mash-up performance of the rapper’s hits, his mic faulted at the end, resulting in West throwing his microphone and leaving the stage.

Juno winner Serena Ryder along with Pitbull opened for West.

West performed his hits “Touch the Sky,” “The Good Life,” “Gold Digger,” and “All of the Lights,” to name a few, during his 13-minute show. The abrupt ending bewildered the more than 40,000 people watching the performance, and a massive fireworks show closed out the night.

Canada’s athletes won a total of 217 medals at the Pan Am Games in Toronto, coming in second to the US who took home 265 medals. The next Pan Am Games will take place in Lima in 2019.
