Comic-Con 2015: Richard Armitage on Playing The Red Dragon In Hannibal!

The critically beloved Hannibal TV series is coming to an end this summer, barring a miracle pickup from someone other than Netflix or Amazon Prime. But first, Bryan Fuller and his team of actors will finally deal with the title character of the first Hannibal novel, Red Dragon!

The Hobbit star Richard Armitage will play Francis Dolarhyde AKA the Red Dragon later this season on Hannibal. Tom Noonan originated the role in Manhunter, while Ralph Fiennes portrayed Dolarhyde in Red Dragon.

At Comic-Con International 2015, Armitage told CraveOnline’s William Bibbiani how it felt to step into the iconic role of Thomas Harris’ Red Dragon, and how he found the humanity within one of the cinematic world’s greatest monsters. Armitage also shared his process for becoming “The Great Red Dragon” and teased the series finale of Hannibal!
