Star Wars Battlefront Gameplay Footage Shows Off Gorgeous (Not CGI) Visuals

Two slices of Star Wars Battlefront gameplay footage have been aired during E3 2015, with the game appearing at both EA and Sony’s press conferences, highlighting how great the game will look after many speculated that its debut trailer consisted of pre-rendered CGI rather than actual gameplay footage.

The new footage, which depicted battles set in the desert planet of Tattooine and the ice planet of Hoth, showed off ground combat as well as vehicular combat sections, with the game also switching between third- and first-person viewpoints.

The environments featured on both planets looked phenomenal, with particle effects from explosions filling the sky, player and enemy animations moving fluidly and lighting realistically bouncing off of rock formations and the like. Alongside Ubisoft’s Ghost Recon Wildlands, Star Wars Battlefront is certainly up there with the most visually impressive games we’ve seen thus far during this year’s E3; now we just have to hope that it plays as good as it looks.
