Sony Has Signed an Exclusivity Deal for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3

One of the final games to be showcased during Sony’s E3 2015 press conference was Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, a series that is typically featured on the Xbox platform, with Sony announcing that they have signed an exclusivity deal with CoD publishers Activision that will see betas and DLC being made available on PS4 first.

The exclusivity deal, which is bullshit for gamers but is something that companies love, will effectively mean that Xbox owners will no longer receive Call of Duty map packs and the like before PlayStation owners, as has been the long-standing tradition.

Sony Group CEO Andrew House made the announcement on stage at the press conference, stating that PlayStation was the “new home for Call of Duty.” The company also unveiled some more footage from the game, including a co-op mission and multiplayer gameplay, which looks a lot like Advanced Warfare only if that game was less shameless about ripping ideas off Titanfall.
